The group goes from a half-localized and non-integrated planning management to a centralized and totally integrated solution for its different production and distribution sites.

DynaSys, European leading provider of Supply Chain Planning solutions, announced the signature of a new contract with MAPA SPONTEX, a big name in the world of house cleaning and equipment of professional protection, for the implementation of n.SKEP Demand Planning, n.SKEP Distribution Planning and n.SKEP Production Planning. MAPA SPONTEX wishes to optimize its Supply Chain Planning solutions on its different production sites in Europe and Asia, its objective being to decrease significantly its stock level while keeping an optimal service level.

The MAPA SPONTEX challenge

Owned by the Hutchinson group, the "General Public" division has about 3700 employees on 19 production sites worldwide and achieves a turnover of 500 millions euros. These last years, the fast-expanding company implemented new processes and new Supply Chain organization with, for consequences, a lack of integration and automation on a global level. For example, the solutions of forecasting and needs calculation were all decentralized, which means different regarding the countries, which was a brake to the customer service optimization, but also to the management of the production and critical resources.

At the end of 2007, MAPA SPONTEX decided to homogenize, standardize and integrate its Supply Chain Planning solution for the whole group sites and chosed the n.SKEP solutions by DynaSys.

The project concerns the CPG division (gloves and sponges). Its objectives were:

  • To optimize communication between the different departments (sales, marketing, supply chain, plants and strategical suppliers) by implementing a common solution
  • To optimize the distribution of finished products all along the logistics network
  • To improve the management of critical resources (plants capacities, stocks, etc.)
  • To reduce procurement time and so increase the level of customer service
  • To implement a real business decision aid tool in terms of planning, which enable everyone to get enhanced information and visbility

The choice of Dynasys

In 2007, MAPA SPONTEX launched a request for offers and consulted the principal editors on the Supply Chain Planning market. The richness and the functional global coverness of n.SKEP, for the demand management, the distribution and production planning or its collaborative and multilingual approach as well as its customer references who implemented Supply Chain global projects, made the difference.

Richard Crnjanski, MAPA SPONTEX Supply Chain Project Manager for Europe comments this choice: "This is a company project for our society which will enable us to have a common solution in order to optimize our processes, our inter-site communication and our customer service. The DynaSys teams have invested themselves with us on this project, the n.SKEP solution by DynaSys answers at best our needs, and to finish, I'll add that the software ergonomics and user-friendliness have seduced the users of the MAPA SPONTEX project team."

Ariel Weil, DynaSys General Manager, adds: "Participating to the implementation of new processes for a company such as MAPA SPONTEX is for us an interesting challenge. The n.SKEP solutions have already proven their efficiency during global deployment, with Nestlé, Essilor, Ipsen, Valeo, or Baxter for example. We developped very early the collaborative and multisite aspects of n.SKEP, which enables us now to answer large problematics, such as the MAPA SPONTEX one."
