DynaSys, worldwide specialist of Supply Chain Management (SCM) solutions, announces the launch of the 2.2 release of its n.SKEP ® Distribution Planning solution, thus completing its integrated collaborative n.SKEP ® suite.

As a true decision-making tool, including inventories monitoring and procurement planning all over the supply chain, n.SKEP ® Distribution Planning enables companies to manage the flows of finished products and components between production, inventory and distribution sites. This solution also covers operational distribution (DRP and daily stock roll-outs) as well as strategic and tactical distribution planning.

With over 15 years experience in the field of distribution and a sustained investment in R&D, DynaSys offers with this new release numerous advanced and powerful functionalities for decision-making in an environment of multi-sites distribution:

  • Easy modelling of n.SKEP, enabling the different supply chain configurations of the companies thanks to simple configuration settings by the user.
  • Quick calculation of requirements allocation for the different sites (DRP) : as a demand or inventory parameter is changing, or as an allocation route is modified, allocation requirements are automatically recalculated for the site, and then for the whole network.
  • Optimized allocation routes enabling to look for the best requirements allocation tactics according to the targeted service rate, to the available plant capacities, to overall costs, etc.
  • Optimized stock roll-outs taking into account among others transportation costs and inventory capacities of the different sites.
  • Calculation of the forecasted load of the production sites : a finite capacity optimization of the production sites considerably improves the capacity profiles of plants.
  • Friendly and collaborativeergonomics as well as advanced simulation environments enable users to configure the view of the network (sites, products, periods, demand, inventories, etc.), to store and compare different assumptions (variation in demand, out-of-date stock, etc.).
  • Management chart generator enabling to create different analyses of the supply chain performance.

‘Adapted to the local as well as to the continental or world-wide market, the n.SKEP ® Distribution Planning solutioncovers volumetrics up to several thousands of SKUs’, tells Ariel Weil, Manager Assistant of DynaSys . Thanks to powerful sourcing optimization algorithms based on the Cplex technology by Ilog, the requirement allocation of the different markets to the different plants is optimized according to the production and storage capacities, to overall costs (production, storage, distribution) as well as lead times’.

And he adds: ‘Our long experience in the field of chilled products enables us to manage the Used By Dates (UBD) throughout Supply Chain. Further, the use of our ‘Single Click Collaborative ®’technology helps to improve the collaboration between the different participants in the Supply Chain. Indeed, the impact of a decision on a site is immediately carried out throughout all the sites.’

n.SKEP ® Distribution Planning is integrated to the n.SKEP ® Demand Planning, n.SKEP ® Production Planning and n.SKEP ® Procurement Planning solutions. Today n.SKEP ®offers all the necessary functionalities to cover the different needs of a multi-sites and multi-levels supply chain. As a powerful and user-friendly s olution, n.SKEP ® has an interface with the different corporate IT Systems existing (SAP certification, JDE, Oracle, etc.).

It is partly because of the comprehensive supply chain coverage by the DynaSys solutions that Guy Degrenne has chosen the following solutions at the end of 2003: n.SKEP ® Demand Planning covering the calculation of sales forecasts, n.SKEP ® Production Planning enabling a synchronizedproduction and procurement planning for all the plants, and n.SKEP ® Distribution Planning for an optimized management of inter-sites distribution, so-called DRP function. ‘ We needed a powerful decision-making tool, combining the forecasting, inventory monitoring as well as procurement and production planning functions for all of our plants in Europe and Asia’ , explains Mr. Denis Binet, IT Director.
